One cannot watch television for more than an hour in the evening without seeing some type of advertisement for prescription medication. The medications claim to help cure or solve any problem, but all of the ads end with a list of side-effects caused by the drug. Sometimes, the side effects are worse than the illness the drug is trying to cure.
Fosamax is one of those drugs. Fosamax was developed to help with bone loss and osteoporosis. However, recent studies have shown that Fosamax has devastating side effects including an increased risk of femur fractures. In addition, studies have shown that Fosamax can also cause osteomecrosis of the jaw, a painful and disfiguring jaw injury along with necrosis of the hip, knee and shoulder. Currently, there is a substantial amount of litigation involving the drug and the drug manufacturer for these various types of injuries. If you, a friend or family member have been prescribed Fosamax and have experienced any of the above-referenced injuries please feel free to comment to this blog.
