- What should I do if I am injured on the job?
The first thing is to report your injury to your supervisor or employer. If your company is large enough to have someone responsible for handling work-related injuries immediately, contact that person at the time of injury or immediately following treatment for a work-related injury if you do not have time to report it before you to go the doctor. Your employer is required to report the injury to their insurance company and you will be contacted by an adjuster handling this matter for the insurance company. In most circumstances, the insurance company has 14 days to decide and advise you of their position with respect to responsibility for benefits and payment of expenses.
