Wisconsin Personal Injury Law: What is an Ambulance Chaser and

Stephanie Thompson, Estate Planning Attorney of Krueger Hernandez & Thompson SC · Sep 6, 2013 ·

If any of you have been in an accident of any kind that results in the filing of an accident or police report you have probably received a letter if not multiple letters from various law firms explaining how they can help.  Generally, the law refers to this as “solicitation” and it is a violation of the rules that govern all attorneys.  Law firms get around the rule by printing on the top of the letter “ADVERTISEMENT.”  You may have heard of lawyers being called “ambulance chasers.”  Please do not be fooled their letters are nothing short of ambulance chasing.

Law firms pay money to collect information on a weekly basis from the various sheriff departments around the state.  These law firms gather this information and then send out “advertisement” material to everyone on the list.  I call this “fishing” for clients.  They are hoping that if they send out enough “advertisements” people will respond and retain their services.

These law firms spend lots of money on television and radio advertisements.  They advertise how much money they have earned.  They pay people to gather accident information and retain new clients.  As long as the law allows them to do so it will continue.  However, at Krueger Hernandez & Thompson SC we think people should be treated with more dignity.

We do not treat our clients as numbers.  When we retain a client we make a decision at that point that, based upon all of the information that we know at that time, we will be your lawyers to the end.  Our offices are near or in your communities and we have personal meetings with you on a regular basis.  We keep you up to date on the status of your case at all times.  We tell you right up front any problems that we see with your case so there are few, if any, surprises.

We have been helping people injured from the negligence of others from accidents of all kinds including automobile, trucks, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, etc., for almost 30 years.  We treat each client as though their case is the most important because, after all, it is the most important case to our clients.  At Krueger Hernandez & Thompson SC you are not a number you are a person that should be treated with dignity.  At Krueger Hernandez & Thompson SC, we listen, we care, we get results!

If you or a loved one have been injured in an accident of any kind please feel free to contact me in the Madison area at (608) 824-9540, in the Baraboo area at (608) 356-3961, statewide at (866) 455-2993, by email at mark@kh-law.net or check out our website at https://khtlawyers.com.
