The Consumer Products Safety Commission recalled children’s one-piece footed pajamas on September 17, 2013. The pajamas were distributed by the Children’s Place. They were made in China. If you or anyone you know have these pajamas you need to return them to the place of purchase and you should be fully refunded even if the pajamas have been used.
The hazard with the footed pajamas is that they do not meet federal flammability standards and pose a burn hazard to children. Your children’s safety is foremost so please, if you have any questions about whether your child’s pajamas are part of the recall you should contact the Consumer Products Safety Commission at toll free (800) 638-2772.
The US Consumer Products Safety Commission is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with the use of thousands of consumer products. Death, injuries and property damage from consumer product incidents cost our country more than $1 trillion dollars a year. Federal law prevents any person from selling products subject to a publicly-announced voluntarily recall by a manufacturer or a mandatory recall ordered by the Commission. This means that this particular product as well as any other products that are either voluntarily recalled or ordered to recall cannot be sold.
Whether it be from pajamas or other clothing, toys, sporting equipment, etc., your child’s safety should be your foremost concern. As adults, it is everyone’s job to assure children’s safety. I appreciate the work done by the Consumer Products Safety Commission but do not leave the safety of your child to the federal government! Make sure that what your child wears as well as what they play with is safe.
If you have any questions about injuries caused by defective products of any kind please contact me for a no cost, no obligation consultation. At Krueger Hernandez & Thompson SC, children matter most.
