VACCINE COMPENSATION LAW: GARDASIL (HPV) UPDATE

Stephanie Thompson, Estate Planning Attorney of Krueger Hernandez & Thompson SC · Nov 29, 2012 ·

Recently, I was reading an article on Gardasil being suspect of causing a teen’s infertility.  Our firm represents many families and individuals who have suffered serious adverse reactions to vaccinations including two teenage sisters who have both been diagnosed with premature ovarian failure that we suspect is linked to their HPV (Gardasil) vaccinations when they were about 13 years of age.  The new article summarizes a British Medical Journal article discussing a 16 year-old Australian girl also suffering from pre-mature ovarian failure that her doctors believe was caused by HPV.

Although there have been almost 19,000 reports of adverse side effects related to Gardasil since it started being administered in 2006 there are very few claiming pre-mature ovarian failure.  There may be many more cases; however, they may be masked by routine treatment for irregular menstruation with oral contraceptives.  In the Australian case, it is only because the girl refused to take oral contraceptives and ultimately her situation was discovered.

Nonetheless, people receiving the Gardasil HPV vaccine have suffered such adverse side effects as Guillain-Barré syndrome, a nerve injury, lupus, seizures, paralysis, blood clots, brain inflammation, severe fatigue and weakness, heart problems and shortness of breath along with chest pains and others including, at last report, over 80 deaths reported.  This information that has been reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).  Whether others have occurred and not been reported is unknown, but likely.

One primary concern with Gardasil is that it is sold as a cervical cancer preventative though there are little, if any, studies shown that it prevents any cancer of any kind.  The manufacturer supports the benefits while others find it highly suspect.  In the past, Merck & Co., has been criticized for marketing the drug in 2006 and thereafter to girls younger than those they tested before introducing it into the market place as well as lobbying governments around the world to make the vaccine mandatory for school attendants.  The number of adverse reactions combined with the additional presumption that perhaps another side effect yet to be established is pre-mature ovarian failure has led many to call for the removal of Gardasil from the market.  What ultimately happens is yet to be known but please seriously consider whether your teenage daughter needs the HPV vaccine and make sure to have all of the information necessary before making the decision.

Of course, if your daughter or a loved one has suffered any adverse reactions from vaccines including the HPV vaccine please contact us for a free, no cost, no obligation consultation.  We represent people around the country for a variety of injuries caused by adverse reactions from vaccines.  We do all of this at no financial risk to you.  Our fees and costs are paid for by the Program, even traveling to meet you.  This is a Federal program so even if you do not live in Wisconsin, New York or Illinois we can represent you.  As indicated, we represent people from many states and even from out of the county and all of this is at no expense to our clients.

Please feel free to contact me by telephone in the Chicago area call (312) 988-4830, New York City area call (212) 521-4192, Wisconsin area call (608) 824-9540 or anywhere in the United States call our toll free number (866) 455-2993.  Please feel free to email me at mark@kh-law.net or visit our website at https://khtlawyers.com for more information.
