VICP (The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program) is a government program to help compensate vaccine recipients and their families who have been severely injured as a result of adverse effects from certain vaccines. A common question I receive is:
How long does the claim process with VICP take?
Answer: It depends on the type of case, the claim and damages. Some cases settle within a year. Some cases, last for several years due to complex issues. Generally, issues involving causation or did the vaccine cause the injury as opposed to another cause, takes the most time.
